Activator Methods®

Chiropractic adjusting technique.

Think of an adjustment as “tuning” a piano, adjusting each string so it produces the perfect tone.

We use one of the most popular “low force” chiropractic techniques in the world.  We are also one of the smallest clinics in Fairfax County.  We pride ourselves in taking care of you.  There is no sign in sheet for safety reasons and mainly, because we know your name!! It is so important to us that we practice Chiropractic and Massage in a personalized safe environment.  Based on our history of 26 years, we are doing things correctly here.  We don’t care too much about reviews on our website as you can see, but we love successful treatments helping our patients.

Activator 5 is the latest innovation from Activator Methods Chiropractic.  Dr. Murphree also utilizes the Impulse adjusting tool from the ex Vice President, Researcher of Activator Methods.  It is giving you her best out of all the years of her practicing in the area.  Patients return to her whenever they need a tune up.  Some patients come weekly as their jobs are so stressful.  You will never hear her tell you that you need to come 3 times a week, then 2 times a week, etc.  She does not think Chiropractic should be practiced with a cookie cutter model.  Each patient has their own results and appointments are based on those results only.  A huge depart from her colleagues in the area, so don’t be surprised when patients compare their copays to her one (1) treatment fee.

First the Evaluation

We begin by analyzing how well your spine moves. We test how well you turn and bend. While you’re lying face down, we’ll evaluate the length of your legs. This simple procedure can reveal significant differences in leg lengths. Click here to try a simple leg-length home test.

This time-tested protocol tells us if subluxations exist and their location. It also helps us know when to adjust and when not to adjust.

The Adjusting Instrument that keeps Improving!

The Activator Methods® Adjusting Instruments are an assortment of handheld spring-loaded tools that deliver a consistent low-force, high-speed thrust.  Dr. Murphree may elect to use 1 of 5 different Activators depending on the appointment.

Activator Instrument

This hand-held instrument delivers a precise, repeatable force at just the right angle.

Because it’s of speed in delivering the adjustment, it is easier to receive the adjustment to a sore area than adjustments delivered by hand. The body rarely tightens to resist, making adjustments comfortable and effective. It’s also helpful for adjusting elbows, wrists, knees and other joints of the body. Frequently, Dr. Murphree is adjusting the sinuses and the TMJ for patients complaining of jaw pain.  These adjustments take longer.  It is not uncommon to spend 20 minutes with each patient if not more with a new injury.  This time and attention is what sets Dr. Murphree apart from the pack.

The Follow Up

After your adjustment, we expect to see a 25% change in your symptoms.  Testing afterwards helps us deliver high-quality care and high levels of patient satisfaction.

Acupuncture Services with Japanese Medical Analysis

Measuring a patients meridians can be done with a Ryodaraku or Asarya instrument.  We choose the Ryodaraku analysis as we believe it is better.  Eastern healing discipline works with the energy system of the body flowing over “meridians” throughout the body. Pain relief, along with a myriad of health problems and disorders can be addressed by placing needles at specific points along these energy paths. This is a proven technology used over thousands of years with billions of people… >> read more
