Activator Methods®

Think of an adjustment as “tuning” a piano, adjusting each string so it produces the perfect tone.
We use one of the most popular “low force” chiropractic techniques in the world. We are also one of the smallest clinics in Fairfax County. We pride ourselves in taking care of you. There is no sign in sheet for safety reasons and mainly, because we know your name!! It is so important to us that we practice Chiropractic and Massage in a personalized safe environment. Based on our history of 28 years, we are doing things correctly here. We don’t care too much about reviews on our website as you can see, but we love successful outcomes.
Activator 5 is the latest innovation from Activator Methods Chiropractic. Dr. Murphree also utilizes the Impulse adjusting tool from the ex-Vice President, Researcher of Activator Methods. There are many tools that Dr. Murphree can use to help you heal.
First the Evaluation
We begin by analyzing how well your spine moves. We test how well you turn and bend. While you’re lying face down, we’ll evaluate the length of your legs. This simple procedure can reveal significant differences in leg lengths. Click here to try a simple leg-length home test.
This time-tested protocol tells us if subluxations exist and their location. It also helps us know when to adjust and when not to adjust. Dr. Murphree has been working with patients of all ages and some with complicated post-surgical conditions that require a complex approach with safety in mind.
The Adjusting Instrument that keeps Improving!
The Activator Methods® Adjusting Instruments are an assortment of handheld spring-loaded tools that deliver a consistent low-force, high-speed thrust. Dr. Murphree may elect to use 1 of 5 different Activators depending on the appointment.

This hand-held instrument delivers a precise, repeatable force at just the right angle.
Because it’s of speed in delivering the adjustment, it is easier to receive the adjustment to a sore area than adjustments delivered by hand. The body rarely tightens to resist, making adjustments comfortable and effective. It’s also helpful for adjusting elbows, wrists, knees and other joints of the body. Frequently, Dr. Murphree is adjusting the sinuses and the TMJ for patients complaining of jaw pain. These adjustments take longer. It is not uncommon to spend 20 minutes with each patient if not more with a new injury. This time and attention is what sets Dr. Murphree apart from the pack.
The Follow Up
After your adjustment, we expect to see a 25% change in your symptoms. Testing afterwards helps us deliver high-quality care and high levels of patient satisfaction.
Physical Therapy – Multi Radiance Medical Laser Stimulation, Cupping of injured areas, and Deep Tissue Massage may assist.
Hydromassage Therapy – Acupuncture – Ultrasound Therapy can be recommended. If there is any bruising as a side effect of a treatment, Dr. Murphree will be cautious and inform you what to expect. Some areas are more tender than others. No pain is always our goal.

Acupuncture Services with Japanese Medical Analysis
